Thoughts on Music, CD 2.0

Steve Jobs, on Apple.com: "Imagine a world
where every online store sells DRM-free music encoded in open
licensable formats. In such a world, any player can play music
purchased from any store, and any store can sell music which is
playable on all players. This is clearly the best alternative for
consumers, and Apple would embrace it in a heartbeat."

Wow!! Yet another example of Steve Jobs placing a bomb under traditional business practices and creating the new perspective, this time the music industry are challenged.

Just think of the iPod as an advanced CD (incl. player, CD 2.0??)…in the end both are 'just' devices with music loaded on them!
