Winterberg in Germany

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

I just arrived in Germany after a full day of traveling, a first timer with Ryanair which was not too bad I must say! My parents rented a house in Winterberg for the week, looking out of the window it indeed is WINTERberg, clouds and rain. πŸ™

But anyway it’ll be nice to be with them and my brother, sister and both my nephews for some days…time to unwind a bit too, nice as it’ll be hectic again coming week.

My best friends father passed away

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It was expected already for some time, it was for the best as ‘they’ then say, but when the moment comes you still don’t want it to happen…yesterdays candle stopped burning for a moment today, and then continued to burn as people live on in our hearts and memories.

It sucks to be so far away…I’ll be there this weekend though.

Burning a candle

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Times are tough these days, and tonight we’re burning a candle. The ones who should, know for whom (although the definitive moment has not come).

Some things take longer than you want them to and you would like time to speed up…and actually you want time to stop in order to keep the moment, make it lasting. Love is all around…

Apple’s WWDC 2009

Monday, June 8th, 2009

I missed the live-blog of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference done by various websites because of yet some other house visits tonight, so I am going through them a bit late. πŸ˜‰

The highlights:

(instead of a rewrite of the details for all these announcements, I’d rather point to them)

– updates to the MacBook line

– the new version of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, will ship in September for a small $29,- upgrade fee

– a show off of the new iPhone OS 3.0, available from June 17 (uhhmm, hope the jailbreak will not take too long πŸ˜‰ )

iPhone 3GS, the new iPhone!Β  Available from June 19 already!

Unfortunately, no surprise visit from Steve Jobs who isΒ  expected to return to Apple soon…Phil Schiller tried, but there is only one master of a keynote speech! πŸ˜‰

And…I’m back

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

I managed to escape from Sweden! I had to take an alternative route, but still was back in the afternoon. Completely knackered after a great company event, so I am gonna hit the hay a tiny bit earlier than the past two nights. πŸ˜‰ Tomorrow is house-hunt day again, so I can use some rest!

Halfway the event

Friday, June 5th, 2009

We’ve been building the team for one day now, and I must admit, we’re quite successful in conquering Sweden! πŸ˜‰

It’s great to meet up with all my international colleagues again, and the pool-party last night was a lot of fun! Not too much sleep as expected (for some reason I always end up being the last at the party, turning off the light and since it never gets really dark ‘up North’ that is pretty late πŸ˜‰ ).

Today we went on a boat-trip and we’ve been turned into a Ceasar type of legionary, wearing white sheets and so on…haha, doesn’t THAT sound like teambuilding?? Oh well, it’s mainly about drinking anyway, so no surprise there. One night to go…wish me luck, oof! πŸ˜‰

Company Teambuilding Event

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

The coming two days we will be conquering Sweden, having a company teambuilding event in Dalsland.

Around 110 colleagues from Norway, The Netherlands, Belgium, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Slovakia will be together, HEAPS of fun!
