Tv shows and movies

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I blogged earlier about eztv.it, the one stop (BitTorrent) source for all your favorite TV shows β€˜offering’ torrents for most TV shows out there!

You might however not know how to get that ‘torrent-thing’ working, or you’re afraid of potential legal consequences…well, then fast pass tv is your highway to TV shows and movies! This website ‘offers’ just about anything you want to see, all via direct links to streaming tv and movies: search, click and start watching, for free! πŸ˜‰

The catch?

Well, there are some annoying pop-ups (don’t click on the links! πŸ˜‰ ) and you might need to equip your browser with a flash, divx or veoh webplayer (follow the instructions your browser gives you)…and that’s it!

TGIF?!?

Friday, January 29th, 2010

There is only one day a week when you can yell out loud: TGIF!!

Today is a bit different though; I’m still in the office and Friday has almost past… πŸ™ …it seems more appropriate to say: TGIS (yes, that is ‘Thank God It’s Saturday’, for you blonds reading this! πŸ˜‰ )

Skiing

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Yayyy! I went skiing tonight, my first time this season…damn, I missed that! He he, the season has begun, bring it on!!

iPad it is, iPad it will be!

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The predictions and rumors were correct; Apple announced its newest creation, the iPad, a revolutionary device for web, email, photos, videos, music, games, e-books and more.

I wasn’t too sure if this would be something for me, but after seeing what I saw so far it definitely is! (no surprise actually ;))

With its superb UI, great design, and for a price that is considerably lower than expected (starting at $499), this one is gonna be huge and market shaping/creating!

Read more about it on the web, there are a zillion sites with all information!

iTablet, iSlate, iPad??

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Tomorrow is a big day in Apple world; their long awaited tablet computer will be announced and presented in a special event starting at 10am Pacific Time (19:00h in Oslo)!

The big question is: what will be its name? iTablet, iPad, iSlate are the most common names heard at the moment. That and of course the actual device itself and its specs are the only things unknown to the masses at the moment.

It is actually one of the first times that everyone is absolutely sure about what new (revolutionary) product will be presented without physical proof…normally there are rumors, somewhat ‘confirmed’ by the technology experts/guru’s, but this time Steve Jobs as well as Apple’s CFO and COO have given enough clear hints to make it reality.

The invitation for the event reveals not much though, as usual we have to wait until Steve Jobs takes the stage! πŸ˜‰

Good timing, sync & click

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Today has been quite a day ofΒ  ‘great timing to be in NL’:

My sister *and* my nephew have their Birthdays today, so: Happy Birthday Sis & Tygo! It was great to see and congratulate them (and pick up some homemade applepie in the process! πŸ˜‰ ).

I was also pleased to be able to see Stefanie & Rob. Her mother passed away yesterday morning and being there does so much more than a phone call…we all know that it is good as it is, and still it sucks.

The third moment of great timing was for Axel to arrive from Indonesia this morning, I was able to meet him at the airport just before I left…yeah, today life synced and clicked!!

And all that after 3 hours sleep last night…he he, Depeche Mode and Antwerp were great and kept us busy till 8:30am this morning! πŸ˜‰

Depeche Mode in concert

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Robbert and I are going to the Depeche Mode ‘Tour of the Universe’ concert in Antwerpen tonight…am SO looking forward to it!

It’s time to hit da road…he he, I just can’t get enough! πŸ˜‰

Weekennnddddd!!

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Quite some intense nights this week: yesterday out in Amsterdam, tonight Rotterdam, tomorrow Antwerpen and Sunday back to Norway…he he, I’m having a GREAT time these days!!

Art at Oslo airport?

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I’m at Oslo airport Gardermoen at the moment, flying to NL later today, and noticed a piece of ‘art’ in the terminal.

Look at the picture below…no doubt that this statue is supposed to be ‘art’, but then again…WTF!?! πŸ˜‰

Cars…and batteries

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

It has been one of those days (actually evening): leaving the office after 7pm, one of the last, and then finding my car without any battery power…even the electric door lock didn’t work! πŸ™

…how was *that* possible? I had no problems in the morning, it’s around zero degrees in Oslo these days (and well above zero in the parking garage!)…and no one in the office at that time who could help me out…damn!

Luckily I’ve got the jump start cables, so the only thing I needed was a helpful driver to get the car started…well, THAT seems difficult in Oslo these days; it could be bad luck just this day, but all men in the four (!!) cars I stopped told me they couldn’t help me for some different BS reasons!! Jeezzzz, how difficult can it be to be helpful?? πŸ™

It’s good that I’m a member of NAF, the norwegian ‘ANWB‘ (NL) or ‘AAA‘ (USA), they came one hour after I called them and the man got the car started within the blink of an eye! He then made me a great deal on a new, superb battery and also installed it…hey, hey, the days of a non-starting car are over, yesss!! πŸ˜‰

Btw. it was interesting that the guy had an Acer Netbook fixed on his dashboard *with* a live internet connection (having his Facebook page up), hahaha…welcome to 2010, when guys helping you on the road still need to be connected to the Net!! πŸ˜‰

Something for the ladies

Monday, January 18th, 2010

All you ladies out there will *love* this advertisement…well, at least the first part of it! πŸ˜‰

IKEA fun on Sunday

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

What better thing to do on a Sunday than to put together some IKEA stuff? πŸ˜‰

This time some goodies from the BestΓ₯ series; a pretty flexible tv storage solution which can be customized till you drop (yes, I did spent several hours at IKEA again! πŸ™ ).

Not all parts were on stock yesterday, so there is more IKEA fun expected later this week…uuhhhhh.

24, Season 7

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

A new tv and a weekend without plans; a perfect moment to start watching Season 7 of β€˜24β€˜!

He he, it’ll most likely mean that I’ll be a couch potato for a few days, finishing the 24 episodes in no time! πŸ˜‰

Helping Haiti – part II

Friday, January 15th, 2010

A full day of hard work with a great team of people can move mountains…the job is done!

The complete satellite system has been built up, pre-configured, tested and currently on its way to an airport in Sweden!! It will fly out tomorrow evening and arrive in Haiti Sunday. We have an installation engineer flying also tomorrow, so everything looks good!

Again; this work and being able to do at least something for Haiti makes me proud!

Helping Haiti

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

These are the days that make me feel proud to work for the company I work for, despite the fact that the reason for it is a nasty one…

Some of our customers in the Humanitarian Aid and Government sectors have offices in Haiti, which makes the terrible earthquake disaster come closer. While the satellite services we deliver to them are still operational, not all organizations can use these circuits as they just can’t access their offices due to the risk of collapse!

They are therefore trying to establish alternative temporary office and obviously need communications, which means that we are currently with a team of people preparing some quick deployable satellite systems that will be sent to Haiti!

We help people help; one of the great things of working in this business.

Pictures of the TV

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Oof, there is a HUGE difference between the good old CRT tv and the new LCD/LED tv and I’m not talking about the next generation image quality and other options…the pictures below speak for themselves! πŸ˜‰ (oh, the table is 1m wide!)
