Supermoon
Sunday, June 23rd, 2013A supermoon is a term created and defined by Richard Nolle: …when a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit (perigee). In short, Earth, moon and sun are all in a line, with moon in its nearest approach to Earth.
Tonight there will be a moon meeting this criteria and, it is even more special as the moon will be the closest and largest full moon of this whole year (out of three supermoon 2013 – May, June and July). That makes tonight the most SUPER of the supermoons!!
Ha, werewolves unite! 😉
