Forget IKEA or other companies that are trying to sell you items to ‘solve’ (small) everyday challenges, just DIY! Check out the ‘99 Life Hacks That Could Make Your Life Easier‘…some are true hidden gems!
George Eliot: “It’s never too late to be who you might have been.”
Denise Levertov: “Marvelous Truth, confront us at every turn, in every guise.”
Franz Kafka: “Anything that has real and lasting value is always a gift from within.”
Eric Hoffer: “It still holds true that man is most uniquely human when he turns obstacles into opportunities.”
Oprah Winfrey: “Be more splendid, more extraordinary. Use every moment to fill yourself up.”
Edna Buchanan: “True friends are those who really know you but love you anyway.”
W. Somerset Maugham: “The important thing was to love rather than to be loved.”
Following World Peace Day (September 21), World Toilet Day (November 19) and of course Global Orgasm Day (December 21), today is declared Global Oneness Day!
We often see ourselves as separate, being different from others, experiencing and focusing on the differences instead of that what connects us all: love!
Global Oneness Day: “From the Since the late 1960′s, when pioneering astronauts captured the first photographs of Earth from space, there has been a growing realization that everything and everyone on our beautiful blue planet are deeply connected. A realization that we are One. And yet, the popular perspectives and dominant institutions in our society are still primarily based on a mentality of separation. The focus on “us” separate from “them”, or “me” separate from “other”, while appropriate in context, is the root cause of so many of the escalating challenges we now face. Thus, if we want to bring about a sustainable global society, nothing is more important than changing this outdated way of thinking. Global Oneness Day was created to recognize and celebrate the fundamental interconnection of all people and all of life. It is an opportunity to join thousands of participants in the exploration not only of the idea of Oneness, but ways in which this thinking can and is being applied “on the ground” so that our global society and culture increasingly reflect it.”
I am all for it; let us be and act as ONE, each with our own uniqueness and talents, making this world a better place!!
Madeleine L’Engle: “We can’t take any credit for our talents. It’s how we use them that counts.”
When Apple organizes a special event, it seems that the whole world is watching, or at least the media is flooded with everything Apple. Today is no exception and Apple has once again a bunch of goodies ready for ‘us’ (to spend our money on 😉 ), it took Tim Cook 2 hours to present everything (I don’t know it for a fact, but it feels that Steve Jobs took less time to create even more media buzz 😉 ).
The highlights:
– The new iPad, named iPad Air (instead of the anticipated iPad 5)…I have been waiting for this one so iWant! 😉
– The Retina Display iPad mini, a ‘Small Wonder’ according to the ad
– OS X 10.9 Mavericks, available today and an unprecedented FREE download for a major software release…Apple always has been all about hardware, having the software mainly to enable a better and more controlled user-experience of the devices
– Next Generation iWork and iLife apps for OS X and iOS
– Update of the Retina Display MacBook Pros (Haswell, Processors, Faster Graphics, More
– Mac Pro showcase, a monster machine 😉 to be released in December
Eleanor Roosevelt: “One thing life has taught me: if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something else.”
Charlotte Bronte: “I try to avoid looking backward and keep looking upward.”
Lawana Blackwell: “Age is no guarantee of maturity.”
The truth about women according to Bert Klunder is explained in YouTube video below, it is in dutch and unfortunately without translation, yet too good not to post it! 😉
For my dutch speaking friends; watch, learn and ROTFLYAO (oh, hatemail from woman can be sent to desperate@housewifes.com 😉 )…for the non-dutchies; you are missing out, check out this link!

Mary Tyler Moore: “Having a dream is what keeps you alive. Overcoming the challenges make life worth living.”
Wow!! It has been over 4 months since I last posted a Song of the Day, amaaaaazing!!!
About time to change that…so, since it is Friday today (TGIF 😉 ), the Amsterdam Dance Event is ongoing, and although I am not going to the ADE 🙁 I still feel like partying, I chose today’s Song of the Day to be ‘Intense‘ by Armin van Buuren! (the #1 DJ of the 2012 DJ Magazine’s Top 100, results for 2013 will be announced at the ADE tomorrow and Hardwell (also dutch!) is the main candidate…)
Armin van Buuren on the album ‘Intense’: “It’s about finding your own light. And living life intensely, you’re only here once.”…I love that!!
*I* can’t sit still when I hear this track (and neither can Misha btw. 😉 )…can you??
Milan Kundera: “When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object.”
George Eliot: “The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice.”
