George Santayana: “Before you contradict an old man, my fair friend, you should endeavor to understand him.”
Arthur Rubinstein: “Of course there is no formula for success except perhaps an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.”
Eric A. Burns: “Greatness is more than potential. It is the execution of that potential. Beyond the raw talent. You need the appropriate training. You need the discipline. You need the inspiration. You need the drive.”
George S. Patton: “Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.”
Sara Zarr: “I think about how there are certain people who come into your life and leave a mark. The ones who are as much a part of you as your own soul. Their place in your heart is tender; a bruise of longing, a pulse of unfinished business. Just hearing their names pushes and pulls at you in a hundred ways, and when you try to define those hundred ways, describe them even to yourself, words are useless. If you had a lifetime to talk, there would still be things left unsaid.”
Michel de Montaigne: “Even on the highest throne in the world, we are still sitting on our ass.”
J. R. R. Tolkien: “Little by little, one travels far.”
Emily Dickinson: “Forever is composed of nows.”
Jacqueline Cochran: “I have found adventure in flying, in world travel, in business, and even close at hand… Adventure is a state of mind – and spirit.”
Richard Feynman: “No problem is too small or too trivial if we can really do something about it.”
A tradition like no other: today is that unique and special day in the year when one day, one hour, one minute makes a whole year difference…we turn the imaginary page of time tonight and after celebrating it we wake up in a brand New Year. By then, page 2018 of the ‘book of life and the world’ has been completely written and all experiences of the past year are stored in it.
The year of 2018 has been a year of mostly continuity for me and quite some ‘firsts’ for Misha; it started with an amazing winter, lots of fun in the snow and skiing through winter wonderland and the summer has been unusually long, super warm and sunny. My beautiful enthusiastic lovely now 7-year old angel changed his first tooth, self-handedly caught his first fish, went to a real Dance Festival with daddy (Dream Village), steered a speedboat (and wanted to become a speedboat racer), got his swimming diploma, and many more. We’re cherishing our time together in Norway and NL and the love for and from friends and family makes life complete.
The celebration of Misha’s 7th Birthday with family in NL and a party with his friends in Norway was memorable, as was having my parents and sister with kids over for a splendid Norwegian Xmas celebration.
It has been yet another busy year running my company and balance came from peace and quiet times at home, as well as (dance) events throughout the year whoopwhoop…the year flew by; a continuous process of letting go of past and getting to know the present and future possibilities…most is balanced in the end.
It is good to know that all the 2018 experiences are stored in a safe place; in my heart and my memory…I can look back, laugh, cry, read, learn, and all of that without any regrets!
Writing things down and then turning the page of time also means that things can be put to rest…it is a good moment to go on and look forward towards everything that future offers and say: “Well, hellooo 2019, here I *am*!!”
Time, it is o-so relative…I wish everyone a splendid life in the Now, filling each moment with unconditional love…share it and pass it on…
Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider: “But then there’s a moment like tonight, a profound and transcendent experience, the feeling as if a door has opened, and it’s all because of that instrument, that incredible, magical instrument.”
Og Mandino: “Treasure the love you receive above all. It will survive long after your good health has vanished.”
Francis Ford Coppola: “You don’t have to specialize – do everything that you love and then, at some time, the future will come together for you in some form.”
Jason Fried: “You don’t need to win every medal to be successful.”
Leo Tolstoy: “Everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.”
Oprah Winfrey: “Let your light shine. Shine within you so that it can shine on someone else. Let your light shine.”
Bruce Barton: “If you can give your son or daughter only one gift, let it be enthusiasm.”
Warmth, Light and LOVE to all you angels out there!
Ho ho hoooope you have wonderful Christmas days!
Eric Hoffer: “A preoccupation with the future not only prevents us from seeing the present as it is but often prompts us to rearrange the past.”
