Hallowe’en
Wednesday, October 31st, 2012It’s Halloween today, so:
Trick or treat, smell my feet
give me something good to eat
if you don’t, I don’t care
I’ll pull down your underwear!

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: “As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”
Paul “Bear” Bryant: “When you make a mistake, there are only three things you should ever do about it: admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it.”
Exactly 13 months old today, and Misha reached a new milestone: after he got up and stood by himself 2.5 weeks ago, his first steps last week (and a lot of training in the past days 😉 ), Misha now officially walks!! (I have a supercute video, send me an email if you want to see it…it is worth it! hihi)
Ha, he really discovered it and doesn’t want to do anything else…his world just became SOOOO much bigger!! 😉
Proud daddy!!!
Albert Ellis: “The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You don’t blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the President. You realize that you control your own destiny.”
Andy Rooney: “Don’t rule out working with your hands. It does not preclude using your head.”
Gregory Garcia and Dan Coscino : “A hug is a wonderful thing. It makes you feel wanted, needed, and loved all at the same time.”
Seneca: “The spirit in which a thing is given determines that in which the debt is acknowledged; it’s the intention, not the face-value of the gift, that’s weighed.”
Hahaha, yes…Men *are* from Mars and Women from Venus! (and yes, this one could nowadays also be opposite 😉 )
ROTFLMAO!!
Helen Keller: “Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I am in, therin to be content.”
Yesterday’s Apple event was all about the new iPad mini, as ‘everyone’ expected (the tagline ‘we’ve got a little more to show you’ was pretty obvious in that respect). It is interesting to look back an remember Steve Jobs some years ago saying that there would be no ‘mini’ version of the iPad (well, he actually also stated that there wouldn’t be an iPad some years before that…one should trust people, eh? 😉 ).
It will be interesting to see it in action, and discover whether it would make sense to have one, in addition to the 13″ MacBook Air and my new iPhone 5 (expected by the end of this month)…
Oh well, it is Apple, the iPad minilooks fantastic and obviously works like a charm…I am pretty sure iWant (and yes, it *will* be a success…)
Check out yesterday’s keynote speech here!
Apple also released an update to the Mac mini and iMac (ssssuper thin aka mini!)…ha, that’s a lot of mini Apples. 😉
Oscar Wilde: “The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself.”
George W. Bush: “I believe that freedom is the deepest need of every human soul.”
And…we’re back in NL…again! 😉
It will be a similar trip as last week (though this time I will stay a little longer and head back home with Misha on Sunday), so that means a lot of public transport and an occasional taxi (or nice walk 😉 )…hmm, that was a nice thing of having my car in NL; some independence and mobility. I am not complaining though as I have the best taxi one could wish for: Taxi Robbert! 😉 My friend of friends is always there to pick me up, drop me off, having great conversations and…extremely cheap!! Thx buddy, really appreciate it…always!
Erich Fromm: “Man’s main task is to give birth to himself.”
Francis Ford Coppola: “You don’t have to specialize – do everything that you love and then, at some time, the future will come together for you in some form.”
Ha, a rainy Saturday afternoon calls for a Prince song! (any moment really calls for that, but hey 😉 )
Soooo many songs to choose from, yet hardly any to find on YouTube because of Prince’s averse against everything internet… 🙁
Still, I found one (and wonder for how long it will be available…)
The lyrics in this song just roll soooo smooth, yet address a big not so smooth issue which shapes the world around us; money, poverty, and greed: today’s Song of the Day: Prince with Money Don’t Matter 2 Night!
I never get enough of Prince…I love it!

Carl Sandburg: “Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.”
Barbara Hall: “That’s the secret of entertaining. You make your guests feel welcome and at home. If you do that honestly, the rest takes care of itself.”
