2012 – Year of Change

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

2012 – what’s in a number, just think of the fact that half the world population (China and India) is celebrating New Year on a different date, so…what makes 2012 so special?

Well, I don’t have the exact answer to that question, yet I feel and know that this will be a very important year, a year filled with change and transformation.

The year 2012 is the year of awakening, a quiet revolution of the heart and the increasing human consciousness. We realize our connection to the Earth, how we are meant to take care of our planet and how we are to live in cooperation and peace with each other and the Earth…let’s use this moment, this first day of the New Year, the first blank page of a new book, to begin a revolution of change and transformation!!

Join me in this adventure, and be aware that: When Everything Changes, Change Everything! 😉

Turning the page of time

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

Today is that special day in the year when one day makes a year difference; we turn the imaginary page of time and wake up in a brand New Year, realizing that page 2011 of the ‘book of life and the world’ has been written, and all experiences of the past year are in it.

It is good to know that all those experiences are stored in a safe place; in our hearts and memories…one can always look back, laugh, cry, read and learn, without regrets!

Writing things down and then turning the page also means that things can be put to rest…it is a good moment to go on and look forwards towards everything that future offers, beginning with 2012 – the year of change!

Time…it is o-so relative…I wish everyone to live life in the Now, to fill each moment with unconditional love and to share that…

Chef’Special in concert

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

This quiet (though windy) day will end with the Chef’Special concert in Rotown, Rotterdam…it is gonna be wild! 😉
The last (and first) time I saw this band was at the Lowlands festival last August (good times in the sun), one of the best shows of the year! As said, it is gonna be WILD!!

(and Misha…ha, the sweet little angel is with my parents, enjoying (hopefully 😉 ) his first night out!)

Misha’s Birth Party

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

Misha’s Birth Party (/Baby shower/’Kraamfeest’/name it whatever you want) was FANTASTIC!

Over 125 (!!) people (friends, family and their kids) came and made it a huge success…and, it was SUPER to see you all!!
Misha just told me that he had a GREAT time too (despite the fact that he slept for an hour during ‘his’ party…which is amazing in itself considering the noise! 😉 ).

He would like to thank you all for coming and for bringing all those nice gifts!

THANK YOU!!

Misha’s first Xmas

Monday, December 26th, 2011

Xmas family traditions become even more special with a new generation present! It was busy and *fantastic* to have Misha in NL this Xmas and see the roles change; son as father, father as grandfather…generations shift under the Xmas tree! 😉

Four generations

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

It was a very special day today; Misha met his great grandmother!! Thankful that this is still possible as she is 91 years old!! (and still going strong)

Four generations captured in one frame…wow, fantastic!!

Out for the evening (/night)

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

Back in NL, time for a boys night out; Robbert is the company and The Hague the town!
The plan: catching up over dinner, a movie (New Kids Nitro), some more good talks, and, well a ‘few’ drinks in De Paap…it’s gonna be GOOD!

Vacationnnnn!!! (& GOD ;))

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Great, I had my last (all day) meeting today, so vacation starts NOW, yippieieieie!! 😉

And it is a fantastic day to start vacation too; not only did winter start today (well, I am actually not sure why THAT would make today a fantastic day to begin my vacation 😉 ), but…it is Global Orgasm Day today, w00t!! 😉

For those not familiar with the concept, check out the GOD website:

(nice acronym 😉 )

Participate in Peace!

December 21st is the day!
Let’s see how many people we can get to join our cause and make the biggest difference on the planet!

When?

Practice as often as you would like!  Especially on full moons, new moons, solstices and equinoxes, or when you remember!

What?
Dedicate an orgasm to Peace.

Who?

All men and women – you and everyone you know.  You may practice alone or with a partner.
Where?
Everywhere in the world, but especially in those countries affected by war or violence – those most in need of peace.
Why?
To effect positive change in the energy field of the earth through conscious dedication of orgasmic energy to the vibration of Peace.  Our minds and our biology influence Matter and Quantum Energy fields, so by concentrating our thoughts before, during, and after orgasm on peace andloving-kindness, the synergy of high orgasmic physical energy combined with the power of positive visualization could help reduce global levels of violence, hatred and fear.  Orgasm is the largest possible instantaneous surge of human biological and spiritual energies.  It is a biological gift!  What better way to achieve your resolution for Peace?Practice, practice, practice (safely)!  Tell all your friends about this website and encourage them to participate!  Help this year be the biggest Global-Oh since we began tracking it.

Misha’s first flight!

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

It was a very special day today; Misha’s first flight!!

Everything went perfect; he looked, and he looked, seemed interested in everything that was going on around him and was even flirting with the stewardesses, hehe. No crying nightmares, on the contrary; he slept like a…uhhh…baby! 😉

A pretty intense day, early wake-up, a lot to take care of, flying, and many visits already (all grandparents and most of his  uncles/aunts saw the little angel)…time to zzzzzz now!

New opportunities on the horizon

Monday, December 19th, 2011

What started as an ordinary Monday, might mean a big change in my (and my colleagues’) professional future; our company got officially sold (again 😉 ), all the necessary regulatory approvals are received, there was champagne in the office this afternoon, so we can start thinking of new business cards! 😉

Hehe, well let’s  wait with that until after the New Year and perhaps a bit longer, when we learn more about the changes that are upon us. Perhaps big, maybe small, we will see…in the end all that doesn’t REALLY matter, the most important is that change will happen…change is always good, and I am IN for a change!

(a nice touch to this, Neale Donald Walsch ‘sent’ me an email today in which he wrote:

“On this day of your life, Raymond, I believe God wants you to know…

...that all change is change for the better.

There is no such thing as “change for the worse.”

Change is the process of Life Itself, and that process could be called by the name “evolution.” And evolution moves in only one direction: forward, and toward improvement.

Therefore, when change visits your life, you can be sure things are turning for the better. It may not look that way in the very moment change arrives, but if you will wait a while and have faith in the process, you will see that this is true.”

Indeed…there are no coincidences!)

Winter ‘Easter’ egg: Let it snow

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

For those who didn’t know, Google’s engineers programmed many funny easter eggs hidden in search queries. The latest one perfectly matches the time of year:

Type ‘let it snow’ in the Google search box, and the snowflakes start falling down the page! After a little while the search results page will become clouded, but luckily you can clear it by pressing the search button which turned into a ‘defrost’ button. Ow, and the first hit is the Christmas carol ‘let it snow’ by Dean Martin, a nice touch. 😉

More examples of Google easter eggs: type “do a barrel roll“, or “tilt“, and do you remember the Jet Ski in Google Maps. 😉

Friday night, work night

Friday, December 16th, 2011

We have just finished and sent out another tender proposal for a customer, oh I love it when these deadlines hit me on a Friday night…NOT!! 🙁

It brings back the ‘All day, All night…WTF‘ spirit from the past months, we actually found out today that we didn’t win that case…so much work, DAMNNN, not a good day!!! I will use the weekend (and some booze) to get over that disappointment…

For now I am enjoying this song once more: Sak Noel with Loca People, for those working ‘all day…all night’…WTF!! 😉

Stairway to…the front door

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Phase II of creating a new entrance is done, we got ourselves some new stairs today! (remember the digging job some weeks ago?)

This makes it WAY easier for visitors to enter the house via the main entrance and actually ring the doorbell, instead of using the ‘back door’ via the washing room! 😉 It is very nice that this phase is completed just before Xmas, as agreed. So GOOD that the constructor we found can be trusted (unlike most constructors in Norway…)

There is still a lot to do before the new entrance is completed, but oh well, that can wait until winter has past.

Speaking of which…yes, as you can see, most of the winter wonderland is gone as it has been above 0C the past days…one thing is sure, the white stuff WILL come back, you betcha.

Misha is a Rolling Stone

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Look at the little angel and his Rolling Stones ‘lips and tongue‘ T-Shirt, verrrrry cool and SOOOO sweet!!

Thx again Andrea says Misha, you’re the best! 😉

Hyttetur pics

Monday, December 12th, 2011

As promised earlier, below a (small 😉 ) selection of the pictures from last weekends Hyttetur…no words needed, Norway is BE-AU-TI-FUL!!!

Thx Henning & Ida for a fantastic weekend!

The Real Choir Xmas concert

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

It is becoming a tradition since we moved to Gjerdrum; the Xmas mood only begins until after The Real Choir Xmas concert, the second Sunday in December! The good thing is that this day will *always* be after Sinterklaas, which keeps things in the right order for us dutchies! 😉

It was a fantastic concert, once again…a great way to end a nice weekend in the mountains!

And YES, Xmas mood is definitely here (so now the house can be Xmas’ized! 😉

Hyttetur

Friday, December 9th, 2011

Yay, it has been snowing some more last night, true winter wonderland outside and we are ‘på hyttetur’!! That is, go to a cottage in the mountains with friends and relax…also do some hiking through stunning nature, enjoy great dinners and ‘some’ drinks…it is the typical norwegian thing to do in the weekend (and also the reason that traffic out of Oslo on Friday’s and back into Oslo on Sunday’s is a disaster! 😉 ).
Henning and Ida invited us for this weekends hyttetur, it has been some time ago since we were at their hytte (our first hyttetur). It obviously is Misha’s first hyttetur, and as he had his first Julebord last week, he is on track with his integration into the Norwegian way of living! 😉

Be Sociable, Share!

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

I added some options for y’all to share the posts on this blog on various Social Networks, you will find the buttons at the bottom of each blogpost. The first row of buttons gives you the option to do a direct Facebook Share, Twitter tweet, Gmail email, or StumbleUpon recommendation. The second row allows you to Like the post on Facebook, share the blog link on Twitter, ‘+1’ it on Google+ or submit the post to StumbleUpon.

It is a nice thing of running the WordPress blogging software on the back-end; there are a zillion plugins available to extend functionality and the Sociable plugin did it for me this time!

So, “Be Sociable, Share”! 😉
