Miles Davis: “My future starts when I wake up every morning… Every day I find something creative to do with my life.”
It is great to have Misha around the coming weeks. I haven’t seen him for over 3 weeks and wow, the little angel has GROWN! There is something new every day in his life and by now he is able to stand up, using some support, but still…SO cute!! And he is SO proud on this accomplishment as you can see from the look on his face below:
Mark Twain: “Whenever you find that you are on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
Despite the early wake-up call this morning (alarm clock set at 4am since we were flying at 7am 🙁 ) and despite the fact that yesterday was my first day off, *today* feels as vacation has really started; home with Misha (and my parents) in the beautiful Norwegian nature and experiencing something that NL has missed for a while…SUN! 😉
It’s gonna be good; relaxing days and enjoying time with Misha for two weeks, yay!
Sydney Smith: “There is one piece of advice, in a life of study, which I think no one will object to; and that is, every now and then to be completely idle – to do nothing at all.”
The Costa Rican sun is long gone, so I figured it is time to change the profile picture I use for various Social Media from the summer look in Costa Rica to this one…taken last Saturday at the Tiësto concert…partyyyyy! 😉
And yes, I do do requests…raise your hand if you prefer my old Costa Rica profile picture (or the Sponge Bob crazy hat 😉 ) and I will consider putting it back hehe 😉
Bertha Calloway: “We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.”
After a few days in NL I can conclude that the weather god decided to skip the summer season for NL this year; Ray, Ray, Rain all day long as you can see in the video below (shot from Robbert’s balcony)…wtf!
My vacation starts tomorrow; as there is no chance to enjoy a sunny day at Kijkduin beach, I hope that the weather god has better plans for the Norwegian summer season, let’s start it on Wednesday!
Dr. David M. Burns: “Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.”
Oscar Wilde: “I can resist anything but temptation.”
One party is nearly over and the next is about to begin! 😉 Adam & Micky’s bachelor party yesterday was fan-friggin-tastic; great people, good vibes, ITM!!
Today you can find me at Breda Live today, great artists on stage that we’re gonna enjoy in typical Dutch summer weather; cloudy with some showers…I am pretty sure that Lefties Soul Connection, Ilse DeLange, Kane, Hardwell and Tiësto will make us forget about anything weather related! 😉
Lord Chesterfield: “Choose your pleasures for yourself, and do not let them be imposed upon you.”
Wow, almost 8 years after the infamous encounter between me and Adam Curry (check out this special Daily Source Code moment!!) I am finally gonna hook up with him again!!
It took a bachelor party for his upcoming wedding to make it happen, so we won’t ‘meet’ in the ‘Studio A8’ on the dutch highway A4, and there won’t be any podcast being recording this time…Supperclub it is! Tonight, and Adam & Micky’s Bachelor party is the occasion…heaps of fun!!
David Viscott: “To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.”
Henry Adams: “Friends are born, not made.”
Natalie Goldberg: “Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important.”
Whenever we are working with a team on a big proposal, we select a ‘project’ song for motivation and increased spirit when our minds get tired. Earlier choices included Sak Noel with ‘Loca People‘ as working on these kind of proposals often means working ‘all day…all night’…WTF! 😉
The song chosen this time is Foster The People with ‘Pumped Up Kicks‘; an upbeat tune that puts us right back in writing mode! 😉
(unlike the ‘All day, All night…WTF‘ in ‘Loca People‘, the lyrics of this particular song are not so much contributing; a kid being bullied and losing his mind…)
Interesting side note; Mark Foster who wrote the song, played all of the instruments on the song himself (thinking that he was just recording a demo) and used Apple’s Logic Pro software to arrange and edit the song. This demo ultimately became the version of the song that Foster The People released. Check out the article that Apple put up.
Abigail Van Buren: “Wisdom doesn’t automatically come with old age. Nothing does – except wrinkles. It’s true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place.”
It is deadline week once more. The word deadline (‘meeting a deadline’) still confuses me; I have never seen a line dying (yet?!), nor did I meet a dead one… 😉
All I know is that the pressure in the team is ON and the days are LONG! Looking at the work done so far, I do feel that we are in pretty good shape to…uhh, well, ‘meet’ this deadline and stand out with our proposal…oh yeahhhh!
Jane Goodall: “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.”
