The difference between Women and Men

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

Many open doors in these pictures at vivas.fi, still; typical, hilarious and OMG oh so true…LoL 😉

Vivas.fi: “There are many funny differences between women and men. You can see them in everyday situations. Next time, when you have a fight with your couple, try to remember these pictures!”

The Time You Have…

Monday, November 25th, 2013

An interesting way to look at the time you have in this life…and roughly how you spend it…

Each jellybean represents one day; seeing how little there are left to do things that really matter to YOU in life, you sure want to be careful not to waste any of them…in other words; make the most out of your free time and your daily routine!

So, what do YOU want to do today??

Dance Festival Breda

Saturday, November 23rd, 2013

My time in NL is spent well; I have been meeting loads of friends and family all around the country in the past days (many miles in the car and public transport! 😉 ). My travels brought me in Breda tonight, ready to partyyyyyyyy all night long at the Dance Festival Breda…haha, dance ’till you drop, I am IN!!!! 😉

Efteling Theme Park

Sunday, November 17th, 2013

THE reason to be in NL this weekend (with Misha) was to go to the largest theme park in NL and one of the oldest in the world, de ‘Efteling‘, with the whole family (7 adults, 5 kids)…we spent most of today in het ‘Sprookjesbos’ (Fairy Tale Forest), a pretty unique and magnificent place for children, which brought back good memories from my own childhood.

Misha didn’t miss any opportunity to explore the park and has been running around the whole day…haha, daddy is pretty knackered now! 😉

A GREAT day!!

My Favorite Frequent Flyer

Saturday, November 16th, 2013

Now that Misha is two years old /young), he is no longer qualifying for the discounted ‘baby’ fare for flight tickets, so I enrolled him in KLM’s Flying Blue program to get at least some benefits back. His card came in last week, so today was his first ‘formal’ member flight! (I have to claim some earlier flights 😉 ). As always, he was mostly happy during the flight, just a tad frustrated when the fasten seatbelt sign ‘forced’ him to sit still, and having fun entertaining the other passengers and flight attendants!

My favorite Frequent Flyer! 😉

Smile of the Day: Newton’s 3rd Law of Emotion

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

Most have (or should have) heard of Isaac Newton, one of the most influential scientists of all time, who formulated the Laws of Motion. You might remember his Third Law of Motion: ‘For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action’, yet I doubt that you know the equivalent Third Law of Emotion (Energy in motion)…

The dutch; happy yet depressed?

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

Two studies show an interesting paradox; while according to the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) the dutch are among the happiest people in the world (ranked #4, still beaten by Norway at #2 though 😉 ), they are also the most depressed people in Europe (a study by researchers at Australia’s University of Queensland)…the worldwide average of people being sick due to depression is around 10% of the time, in the Netherlands it is 16%!

Uhhhh…huhhhh?!? Not sure what to make of this…does this mean that the majority of people in NL live on one of the far ends of the spectrum? Being either depressed OR happy? (one cannot be both, or?)

Perhaps it is just a good example of how ‘true’ (/subjective) studies are…

The car that saves lives

Monday, November 11th, 2013

The car manufacturer would never approve this commercial (especially taken their country of origin); it is quite an unorthodox way to show off an life saving feature…pretty awesome 😉

Father’s Day 2013…in Norway!

Sunday, November 10th, 2013

It was Father’s Day today, uhhh…Father’s Day? Huh, in November?!? Yeah…while most of the world celebrates this day in June, Norway celebrates it on the Second Sunday of November, so today!

Misha got pretty creative (supported by the kindergarten 😉 ) as you can see below, NICE!

Haha, I guess I have to wait some more years for breakfast in bed! 😉

Songs in Real Life 4

Friday, November 8th, 2013

As mentioned a week ago, Steve Kardynal already released Part 4 of this Songs in Real Life series. The first three episodes were fantastic, so let’s enjoy #4! The clip is a good 7 minutes and trust me, you won’t be bored…be ready to ROTF and LYAO! 😉

I did the Death Road and all I got…

Thursday, November 7th, 2013

…was a lousy T-shirt 😉 , AND a *fantastic* experience, AND a CD filled with pictures to proof that! Good times on the Death Road! 😉

I am happy that the T-shirt and pictures made it all the way to Norway. I didn’t have time to pick ‘m up in La Paz, as I caught a night-bus to Uyuni only an hour after returning from the Death (Road)…yeah, I did make the most of my time in Bolivia (&Peru)! 😉

The iPad Air in IN!!

Wednesday, November 6th, 2013

My collection of Apple goodies increased; I couldn’t hold of buying the new iPad Air after seeing/holding it at the Apple Store today. 😉 I kinda knew I wouldn’t be able to resist after the release two weeks ago. I actually was waiting for the release since beginning this year, rumours were that an iPad 5 could be released as early as March. That didn’t happen, probably to optimize the design so it could be called iPad Air instead of iPad 5 (or ‘the newest iPad’ 😉 )…super thin and light weighted, fantastic!

The iPad has had quite a development in the past three years, it opened a whole new market and is still unmatched in quality and user experience…

Photos that say it all

Sunday, November 3rd, 2013

Nothing to add here, it is just fantastic to capture a moment that tells a whole story in one image…it requires talent (or pure luck 😉 )

Trees and Wifi

Saturday, November 2nd, 2013

Earlier WiFi related posts on this blog included funny pictures like ‘WiFi antenna or USB port?‘ and ‘Birds and WiFi‘. This one is more serious, and sadly enough true…it would make a great business plan though (or Google X project)!

I love my (free) WiFi, but adore O2 more! 🙂

It is Movember!

Friday, November 1st, 2013

The 1st of November kicks off a nearly 10 year old tradition called Movember; men growing moustaches to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other men’s health issues. Movember moustaches were first grown in Australia back in 2003 and it seems to increase in popularity year over year (or at least, it gets more MSM-coverage); good to see the term ‘Movember’ and the related health messages for men spreading across the globe.

Below you will find the TED talk by Adam Garone, co-founder of Movember…interesting and funny!

Songs in Real Life 3

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

It is becoming a great series; Steve Kardynal’s Songs in Real Life; I posted Part 1 and Part 2 earlier and while Part 4 is out, it will have to wait, Part 3 is first. This one is a tad longer, watches like a short film, and…is hilarious once again!! I *love* this concept…

Global Oneness Day

Thursday, October 24th, 2013

Following World Peace Day (September 21), World Toilet Day (November 19) and of course Global Orgasm Day (December 21), today is declared Global Oneness Day!

We often see ourselves as separate, being different from others, experiencing and focusing on the differences instead of that what connects us all: love!

Global Oneness Day: “From the Since the late 1960′s, when pioneering astronauts captured the first photographs of Earth from space, there has been a growing realization that everything and everyone on our beautiful blue planet are deeply connected. A realization that we are One. And yet, the popular perspectives and dominant institutions in our society are still primarily based on a mentality of separation. The focus on “us” separate from “them”, or “me” separate from “other”, while appropriate in context, is the root cause of so many of the escalating challenges we now face. Thus, if we want to bring about a sustainable global society, nothing is more important than changing this outdated way of thinking. Global Oneness Day was created to recognize and celebrate the fundamental interconnection of all people and all of life. It is an opportunity to join thousands of participants in the exploration not only of the idea of Oneness, but ways in which this thinking can and is being applied “on the ground” so that our global society and culture increasingly reflect it.”

I am all for it; let us be and act as ONE, each with our own uniqueness and talents, making this world a better place!!

An iPad in the Air ;)

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013

When Apple organizes a special event, it seems that the whole world is watching, or at least the media is flooded with everything Apple. Today is no exception and Apple has once again a bunch of goodies ready for ‘us’ (to spend our money on 😉 ), it took Tim Cook 2 hours to present everything (I don’t know it for a fact, but it feels that Steve Jobs took less time to create even more media buzz 😉 ).

The highlights:

– The new iPad, named iPad Air (instead of the anticipated iPad 5)…I have been waiting for this one so iWant! 😉

– The Retina Display iPad mini, a ‘Small Wonder’ according to the ad

OS X 10.9 Mavericks, available today and an unprecedented FREE download for a major software release…Apple always has been all about hardware, having the software mainly to enable a better and more controlled user-experience of the devices

– Next Generation iWork and iLife apps for OS X and iOS

– Update of the Retina Display MacBook Pros (Haswell, Processors, Faster Graphics, More

Mac Pro showcase, a monster machine 😉 to be released in December

The truth about women according to Bert Klunder is explained in YouTube video below, it is in dutch and unfortunately without translation, yet too good not to post it! 😉

For my dutch speaking friends; watch, learn and ROTFLYAO (oh, hatemail from woman can be sent to desperate@housewifes.com 😉 )…for the non-dutchies; you are missing out, check out this link!
