Katherine Mansfield: “Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinions of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth.”

Ho’oponopono

Monday, April 9th, 2012

Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness (defined as: “mental cleansing: family conferences in which relationships were set right through prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, and mutual restitution and forgiveness.”)

The book Zero Limits brings the new idea that the main objective of hoʻoponopono is getting to “the state of Zero, where we would have zero limits. No memories. No identity.” To reach this state, one has to repeat constantly the mantra, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you.”.

It is based on 100% responsibility; taking responsibility for everyone’s actions, not only for one’s own. If one would take complete responsibility for one’s life, then everything one sees, hears, tastes, touches, or in any way experiences would be one’s responsibility because it is in one’s life. As we all know, loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself, and as you improve yourself, you improve your world…

So; “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you.”

Father-son week in pictures

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

One picture says more than a 1,000 words, so nine pictures say… 😉

My first ‘father-son’ week was FANTASTIC, Misha made the ‘father-son bonding’ easy and feeling like a longggg relaxing weekend…it was fun!

Mozambique update

Friday, April 6th, 2012

Yesss, it’s really going to happen!!

I received the orientation packet from Habitat for Humanity for my Global Village trip to Mozambique, and guess what? It came with a Team Member T-Shirt, so I am part of the team, yayyy! 😉

There will be regular updates on my blog with my preparation progress…there are less than 5 weeks before my departure, wow!

Most important for now: you can support me by making a donation via my Team member page (do it now! 😉 )

I like the tagline on the back of the T-shirt: ‘Making a world of difference’.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone: “Love isn’t a decision. It’s a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but much less magical.”

Song of the Day: Draw Your Swords

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

No words can describe the fragile yet intense energy in this song: Angus & Julia Stone with ‘Draw Your Swords‘, one of my all-time favorites!

Headphones on, eyes closed…allow it to come in; a lovely combination of acoustic guitar with piano and the words just flowing into the melody.

Their website has a note telling us that Angus & Julia are working on their solo projects at the moment and won’t be touring together soon, so I have to wait a little to see them live. (until then we’ll have to do with their YouTube channel, filled with 16 beauties!)

Misha, my PA @work ;)

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

I went to the office today to show Misha (his first time with daddy to work, he was thrilled! 😉 ), although the actual reason was that I had to work a little, despite my week off. 🙁

Misha was supposed to be my PA 😉 but he apparently needs more training; the little angel fell asleep!! (or could it be that I am so organized that there wasn’t much for him to do?? 😉 )

Meatless Monday

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

I stopped eating meat early January this year which was really easy and it feels good, for ME. My main reason was that I realized that meat is the easy, unconscious, choice for a meal, inherited from the stone age where mankind had no choice; you hunt and kill an animal, eat it or…you die of starvation.

And perhaps even more important; times have changed and nowadays meat production is an industry almost like any other (few exceptions), caring more for return on investment, stuffing animals with growth hormones and antibiotics to make the operation more profitable, and almost no interest/attention for the animals or quality of the meat, nor for what is best for the ‘consumer’, us all.

Everyone has their free choice and yes, everyone should do what feels best for YOU, just consider what you are *really* eating and perhaps try one day a week without meat (as a start 😉 )…

Today is Meatless Monday y’all!! 😉

Coming week is father-son week!

Sunday, April 1st, 2012

I flew back to Norway today, ‘alone-together’ with Misha…we have a special week coming up as this will be my first father-son week; a whole week quality time between daddy and son, yayyy!

It is one of the great things about living in Norway; as a father I get many, many week off (paid! 😉 ) to spend time with my son…I love it!!

The flight home was *good*, I said it before; this kid is made for flying! 😉

Sleeping, flirting with the stewardesses, eating, and waking everybody up during landing…uh-uhh…
