A retreat in the sun?

Monday, January 7th, 2013

So, I arrived in Curaçao after a pretty uneventful flight (some sleep and two movies) and had a warm welcome on the island; a big rain storm! 🙁 Oh well, predictions show *much* better weather from tomorrow, and today is mostly gone anyway (I need some sleeeeppp! 😉 ). I just checked into my hotel, ‘t Klooster, dutch for ‘The Monastery’…uhhh…seriously?? 😉

Well we will see, for now the idea of a retreat in the sun sounds goooddddd!!

Curacao it will be!!

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

After a turbulent 2012 with a hectic end, it is time for…VACATION!! I have been going back and forth in the past days where to go and: we have a winner…CURAÇAO it will be!! (and, I will leave tomorrow, yayyy!! 😉 )

I am SO looking forward to 2-3 weeks of loads of sun, paradise beaches, relaxing, reading books, swimming, snorkelling, relaxing, drinking cocktails, exploring the island, exploring the islands nightlife, getting awfully suntanned, some more relaxing…basically enjoying LIFE…I love it!!

Dance and FUN in 2013

Thursday, January 3rd, 2013

Dancing is something I really like, definitely FUN to do, and since the FUN-factor will play a big part in my ‘2013 – year of execution‘, let’s start this year with the Evolution of DanceJudson Laipply‘s perfect visual example of how life changes caught in a YouTube clip!

Are you in? Let’s DANCE everrrrybody!!

The clip is almost 7 years old and I never saw it (strange as it has over 200 million views!).

In 2009 Judson released ‘Evolution of Dance 2‘…just as good!

Dutch countryside views

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013

I am staying in Gorinchem these days and went for a walk around town following the city walls today. Nice and very interesting, revealing some of Gorinchem‘s history and…stunning views of the countryside ‘outside’ the city walls.

Windmills y’all…NICE! 😉

Happy 2013!

Tuesday, January 1st, 2013

Happy New Year y’all!

After the 2012 year of change I feel that 2013 will be the year of execution; everything that needed to be released, changed and transformed in preparation for this year is behind me…the time to execute is NOW, I am ready for 2013!

Oh, and as I am no guy for New Years resolutions, don’t expect them here. 😉 I believe more in New Day resolutions…in the end, January 1 is ‘just’ another new day, eh? (especially when you consider that half the world population (China and India) celebrate New Year on a different date!)

Turning the page of time

Monday, December 31st, 2012

Today is that unique and special day in the year when one day makes a year difference; we turn the imaginary page of time tonight and after some celebrations we wake up in a brand New Year. By then, page 2012 of the ‘book of life and the world’ has been completely written, and all experiences of the past year are in it.

The year of 2012 has been a very intense year; a year filled with change, highs and lows, letting go and getting to know, closing doors and opening windows…everything is balanced in the end.

It is good to know that all the 2012 experiences are stored in a safe place; in our hearts and memories…one can always look back, laugh, cry, read and learn, without regrets!

Writing things down and then turning the page of time also means that things can be put to rest…it is a good moment to go on and look forwards towards everything that future offers, 2013 here I come!!

Time…o-so relative…I wish everyone a splendid life in the Now, filling each moment with unconditional love and sharing it…

Losing 2000 calories

Sunday, December 30th, 2012

After days filled with food, food and some more food (coz that seems to be what Xmas is really about 😉 ), the exercise in the YouTube clip below is a funny way to bring back some balance in weight-wish and -reality! 😉

Misha 15 months

Saturday, December 29th, 2012

The little angel gets bigger and bigger; today Misha turned 15 months, 1 1/4 year, wow!! After three (pretty intense) weeks together with him in Norway, in which we enjoyed Xmas preparations, the dark and magical snowy outside and of course a lovely Xmas celebration, he is now with Kissy, ready for New Year’s Eve and the start of 2013. Time flies, so many changes in one year time…for him, *and* his parents…

2012’s last Full Moon

Friday, December 28th, 2012

AAAAOOOOWWWW, the Moon is Full today! The last Full Moon in quit a lunar year; 12 months and 13 Full Moons! The December Full Moon is also called the “long-night’s moon” since it is the closest Full Moon to the northern winter solstice (when the nights are longest). It also mean that tonight’s Full Moon will be visible for the longest amount of time.

So, for all you werewolf lovers; beware (or enjoy 😉 )!!

(PS. other names for the December Full Moon are: oak moon, frost moon, winter moon, and moon before Yule. And in order to be complete: In Hindi it is known as margashirsha poornima. Its Sinhala (Buddhist) name is unduvap)

Misha’s first Julaften

Monday, December 24th, 2012

Julaften (Christmas Eve) is when norwegians celebrate Christmas and this year is Misha’s first! The two of us were invited by friends, who prepared a fantastic dinner! Very special to be a part of this tradition…and, to be part of the other tradition; Christmas gifts! Loads under the Xmas tree!

Pay attention to things critical to your happiness

Saturday, December 22nd, 2012

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles roll
ed into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Still here? ;) Today is Global Orgasm Day!

Friday, December 21st, 2012

If everything goes according to plan, the world has not ended today 😉 (though Planet Earth and humanity are currently undergoing an extraordinary spiritual awakening – or “consciousness shift”…). And since the world did not end, I suggest we use the opportunity to celebrate Global Orgasm Day! 😉

From the Global Orgasm website:
“This is the 7th year of the Global Orgasm for World Peace, held annually on the December Solstice.
Millions of satistfied people around the world have participated, saying Yes! to World Peace in their own special way.
Through links with the Noosphere Project at Princeton University, and more recently The Center for Subtle Activism, the Global O has been able to contribute in a unique way to the new sciences of the collective mind.
This year the Global O falls on one of the most anticipated dates in human history.
It is a date that to some is either the end, or the beginning, of the world.
Whatever happens, we ask that you vote for a brighter future with your orgasm. Use it to pray for Peace.
With you will be millions of people around the world.”

The symbol below is not just a symbol for the Global O, but an ancient emblem representing our shared basic nature. One of wisdom, compassion, wholeness & bliss. Imagine it, and peace on earth, you dedicate your orgasms.

Are you in?? 😉

I resigned…

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

After working for 15,5 years working for the same company, I have (though not really voluntarily, but with a good deal 😉 ) decided to move on and pursue new challenges…yes, I resigned! It is still time for change; this *is* 2012 after all…the year of change!

Neale Donald Walsch wrote a book about it, ‘When Everything Changes, Change Everything‘, my 2012 change circle closes just in time! 😉

Ha, the new opportunities on the horizon that I wrote about last year turn out to be new opportunities outside the company, who would have thought!

I guess you now also understand the relevance of the Steve Jobs’ Secrets of Life and 12-12-12 blogposts the past week…

A pretty weird, though a good feeling to walk out the door today with a ‘box-with-stuff’ in my arms…HELLO world!! (don’t die on me tomorrow! 😉 )

Give a little love…

Wednesday, December 19th, 2012

It is fantastic to realize what happens when you give a little of your love to one another…others *will* notice it as you can see in the YouTube clip below!

My suggestion to y’all; be consciously aware, be awake, spread some love and make this world a better place! 😉

Crowboarding

Monday, December 17th, 2012

There are enough crows around the house and as of this week there is more than enough snow for a serious crowboard competition…unfortunately the crows in the neighbourhood are not into crowboarding (they are more into stealing cat food… tsss!).

Haha, I wish ‘my crows’ were as cool as the crow in the clip below…HANG LOOSE!!

Misha in the snow

Sunday, December 16th, 2012

It has been snowing the past days and will continue to snow for the whole coming week it seems; yeah, winter has really started yihaa, 30cm and counting; outside is a true winter wonderland, just in time for a white Xmas, hohoho! 😉

Misha has not really been playing in the snow, at least not while he was aware hehe…today he went in deep and it turns out he adores snow,  he uhh literally *adores* snow…EATING it!?!? 😉

It is good fun to be outside and it is really lovely to see him enjoy the white stuff so much…oh yeah, the coming months will be fun!

Saint Lucy Day breakfast instead of Julebord

Thursday, December 13th, 2012

Tonight is ‘Julebord‘ night, the traditional Norwegian Xmas dinner/party with work, though I am not joining 🙁 (first time since I moved to Norway). I did have another event today to compensate for it; the celebration/breakfast of Saint Lucy’s Day at kindergarten this morning!

It was Misha’s first and he too took part in the Saint Lucy ceremony. All children were following ‘Saint Lucia’ (one of the kids who was elected to head the procession), and wearing a white gown/shirt, silver belt and crown describing the light with which Lucia overcomes the (Scandinavian) darkness. A really nice experience despite the early wake-up call (05:55h)…WAY too early for both father and son! 😉 Misha took a hit because of this and got a slight fever in the afternoon…so, daddy is home tonight with a not too well feeling little Saint Lucy angel.
